my project this is the image i built my digital file over top of more inspiration i forgot to take screenshots while doing much of my line work :( i unfortunately forgot the gills on the other side of the axolotl :( and wouldn't realize until i had cut out my project i tried to model a frame i was having trouble getting the little wavy bits to snap on where i wanted to for some reason eventually i got it i worked on separting my frame bits for cutting but i forgot i needed holes for magnets :( adding in the magnets all added, but it wasn't until i cut that i realized i needed two layers with magnet holes and only one with the plain frame. had to cut that part extra after i also cut a top layer out of scrap veneer, i only ended up using the corner bits in the end though here's the puzzle pieces i started gluing together frame pieces putting them together with the acrylic sheets put in the magnets had the top and bottom

plans for my project. i know what i would like to do for my bigger project, im just working on choosing my design and sorting out components of it.  my idea will feature both wood and acrylic. i will be making an imitation of stained glass in a wooden frame. i will cut out the acrylic to make the individual "glass" pieces from clear acrylic and color them after so i will have a wider range of colors than if i am to order colors. im thinking i would like to try etching a "wood grain" on the wood for the frame to add to the illusion of this being a nice "fancy" wood frame i am also considering making my glue seams noticeable when putting together the acrylic parts and coloring it dark to imitate the soldering seams that are part of the process of putting together a stained glass piece. here are some of the notes i have made while thinking about it

tile progress i just need to trim and hatch my tile  i will be cutting and etching it on wood. i plan to use both wood and acrylic in my project. i have made a simple item to try out on acrylic as well. it is of a pillbug that i frequently feature in my work. i made him while practicing the software one day. i think it will be a good sample to see how cutting and hatching will appear on the acrylic as well.
